Strategy Analytics Claiming That 1 Billion Android Devices Shipped In 2014

It seems last year proved as best joy ride for the iOS and Android companies as well. While Apple reached and important milestone and sold billionth of iOS device, Approx. 1 billion Androids shipped over the last year alone as per the data revealed by the Strategy Analytics. According to the Strategic Analytics firm, they estimates 1.3 billion smartphones were shipped in 2014 that over 1 billion ran Android.

Well if we are going to see the previous data, the shipments grew 30% compared to 2013. The Android alone went from 0.8B to 1B on that period, while iOS lost some ground in terms of market share. It still shipped around 193 million devices, up from 153 million units in 2013. Now users of Windows Phone is wondering about their devices, so third position has grabbed by the Window phone users that kept pace with the growth of the market and stayed at 3% share, which means its shipping just under 39 million units.

However, the Strategy Analytics did not release a breakdown by mobile manufacture, but as per the quarterly reports, the Cupertino Inc.’s popularity reaching crescendo as its whooping sales record has amazed everyone. Initially the Strategy Analytics reported that Samsung and iOS sales for Q4 2014 were even in terms of devices sold. Well, in overall performance, Samsung somewhere seen its earnings slip, but other companies have been bouncing back. Well, if you are wondering why BlackBerry is not in this list, so unfortunately BlackBerry falls into the Others category and that has only total share of 0.7% and that is down from 2% in 2013.

Well this information was also provided by the Strategy Analytics since the quarter result have shown that Android has retreated the OS devices in Q4.
